In November 2024, BSL submitted samples of our full P clip range for independent salt spray testing, alongside a selection of competitor products, including one particularly low-cost option. The results, illustrated in the accompanying chart, highlight a clear performance difference.
BSL has been a trusted supplier of P clips to leading commercial vehicle and off-highway manufacturers for more than 40 years. Throughout this time, we have never encountered corrosion-related issues, which underlines the long-standing reliability of our clips in demanding environments. We are confident that our corrosion protection already exceeds the requirements of today’s applications.
As part of our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement, we have recently enhanced the quality of the band material used in our clips. This development prompted us to benchmark our products against the market more broadly.
The results are clear:
- Overall, against most competitors, BSL clips perform better in corrosion protection with 336 hours regularly achieved.
- Against the very lowest-cost clips, the performance gap is significant.
